Ingredients in Stephenson Suspending Soap Base
Stephenson suspending soap base contains glycerin that is extracted from coconut oil, and is distilled and deodorized for a fragrance free soap.
Stephenson suspending soap base is specially formulated with silica for decorative or exfoliating soaps. The exfoliant that you choose will remain distributed throughout the bar, instead of sinking or rising.
Benefits of Stephenson Suspending Soap Base
Stephenson suspending soap base contains high quality glycerin, a natural moisturizer. Glycerin draws moisture from the air to the skin, but doesn't leave skin feeling oily. The soap will rinse cleanly from the skin without leaving a soapy residue, unlike many soaps that contain animal fats.
Stephenson suspending soap base is completely biodegradable, and is never tested on animals. The vegetable based soap is a great choice for vegetarians and vegans, as well as for anyone who simply wants a naturally moisturizing soap.
Stephenson soap base also has superior clarity, and won't yellow after hardening. The finished bars of soap are also easy to remove from your molds.
Using Stephenson Suspending Soap Base
Stephenson suspending soap base is a melt and pour soap base. To make the soaps, all you need to do is melt the base and pour it into molds to allow to harden.
Stephenson suspending soap base is made to suspend items throughout the bar of soap. You can add decorative items, like glitter or exfoliants like ground almonds to your bar of soap.
When adding the decorations or other items to your soap, you should take care to stir the mixture carefully, after the mixture has cooled slightly. If you stir your soap base too roughly, air will be incorporated into the mixture and could result in cloudiness. Also, you might want to experiment with the additives you choose to make sure that they are not too heavy for the soap suspension.
You can also add coloring, fragrances and essential oils to your soap base after it has been melted. To add coloring, slowly add your chosen color, making sure that the soap bubbles remain clear for a translucent bar of soap.
For a desired fragrance, add one teaspoon of essential oil per pound of soap base, or one tablespoon of fragrance per pound of base. After adding your coloring, fragrance and decorative items, pour the soap base into you molds, and allow to harden overnight.
After you have created your soaps and allowed them to harden, you should store your soaps in clear plastic wrap. Stephenson suspending soap base is made with purified water, which may evaporate, causing your soaps to shrink.
Aromatherapy and Stephenson Suspending Soap Base
For a great smelling and invigorating exfoliating soap, you can add one teaspoon of vanilla essential oil along with a small amount of ground coffee to your soaps. The coffee is a great exfoliant, and is thought to stimulate the growth of new skin cells.
You can also make great soaps for children, including glitter soaps. Simple sprinkle the glitter in the melted soap base, and stir carefully before you pour the soaps into your molds.
