Using Stephenson Clear Soap Base
Stephenson clear soap base can be purchased as a “melt and pour” base. You just need to heat the soap base, add any inserts, essential oils or colorings you like, and pour the soap base into your mold. This is a really simple way to make soap, which can be an intimidating project!
To make a colored bar of soap, you should simply add the coloring of your choice. Watch the soap bubbles to make sure they remain clear, if they don't, then you have probably added too much color. To add scent to the soap base, the basic measure is one teaspoon or les of essential oil per pound of soap. If you are using a fragrance besides essential oil, you can add up to one tablespoon.
You should be careful not to boil the soap base, however. Also, you should wrap your soaps in clear plastic wrap; since they contain water, they may shrink when exposed to the air for long periods of time.
