Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon essential oil lends a bright, cheerful note to the recipes of many soap makers and aromatherapists. The sweet and sour scent of lemon oil helps banish fatigue and depression. It is known to lift the spirits and help clarify the mind, aiding decision-making. The therapeutic properties of lemon essential oil include, but are not limited to, antiseptic, bactericidal, insecticidal, diuretic, anti-rheumatic and antimicrobial. It is used in the treatment of headaches, rheumatism, arthritis, high blood pressure and respiratory infections. Lemon essential oil is also used to clean oily skin and hair. This pleasantly tangy citrus oil can help clear acne, reduce cellulite, ease painful moth sores and relieve insect bites. Lemon oil also aids blood flow and helps reduce fevers.

Lemon essential oil is thin and watery in consistency. The color is pale yellow or pale yellowish green. The scent of lemon oil blends beautifully with many other essential oils, making it a versatile top keynote. Most soap makers and aromatherapists consider lemon essential oil as a must have ingredient and use it often in their formulas. Why not try one of the following recipes and enjoy the fresh, uplifting scent of lemon essential oil for yourself?
