Lavender French Essential Oil
Lavender is the most popular of all the essential oils. It has been called the “medicine chest in a bottle”. Lavender French essential oil is extremely versatile and offers a multitude of therapeutic properties, including balancing moods and clearing the mind. The scent of lavender will rejuvenate someone who is tired or will slow down and relax someone who is tense or stressed. It has a long history of use in aromatherapy, soap making, household preparations and medicinal remedies. Lavender French oil is considered to be analgesic, anti-depressant, antispasmodic, stimulant, sedative, antibacterial, diuretic and has a long list of other therapeutic properties. It is used in the treatment of headaches, sore joints and muscles, respiratory and digestive ailments and useful for all types of skin problems, including acne, eczema, athlete's foot, burns, wounds and insect bites.
One of the great things about lavender French oil is it is one of the few essential oils that can be used directly on the skin. It is a thin, colorless liquid with a floral, herbaceous scent with a balsamic, woodsy undertone. This popular oil offers a middle keynote to formulas used by soap makers and aromatherapists. - Lavender Baby Soap
- 11.2 oz olive oil
- 4.8 oz avocado oil
- 6 oz distilled water
- 2 oz lye
At trace:
- ½ oz lavender French oil
- ½ oz roman chamomile oil
Pour lye into water. Cool to 110 degrees Heat oils to 110 degrees. Pour lye/water mix into oils. Bring to trace. Add essential oils. Pour into mold, cover and let sit for 24 hours. Remove from mold and cure 3-4 weeks.
Floral Fantasy Soap
- 4 oz jojoba oil
- 8 oz olive oil
- 2.4 oz coconut oil, 76 degree
- 1.6 oz cocoa butter
- 1.9 oz lye
- 6.08 oz water
At trace:
- 1-tablespoon palmarosa essential oil
- 2 teaspoons lavender French essential oil
- 1-teaspoon ylang ylang essential oil
Pour lye into water. Cool to 115 degrees. Heat oils to 115 degrees. Pour lye/water mix into oils. Bring to trace. Add essential oils. Pour into mold, cover and let sit for 24 hours. Remove from mold and cure 3-4 weeks. This makes a 1-pound batch of soap.
Lavender Melt and Pour Complexion Soap
- 2 lbs goats' milk melt and pour base
- 2 oz shea butter
- 2 oz lavender French essential oil
- 2 tablespoons ground lavender buds
Melt the soap base and add the shea butter. Stir well. Add essential oil. Stir well and lavender buds. Stir well to distribute evenly. Pour into molds, spritz with rubbing alcohol and let sit for 4 hours. Remove from molds.
Sunburn Relief Oil
- 15 drops lavender French essential oil
- 5 drops helichrysum essential oil
- 1-drop bergamot essential oil
- 1-drop rose geranium essential oil
- 1 oz jojoba oil
- 1 oz sesame oil
Blend all the oils together in a bottle with a tight cap. Rub on sunburned areas as needed. This works best after a bath or shower.
