Jojoba Golden
Jojoba Oil is a liquid wax that is produced inside the jojoba plant. This shrub is found in Arizona, Southern California and Northern Mexico. By weight about 50% of jojoba seed consists of jojoba oil. It is rich in Vitamin E and it resembles the sebrum of the skin.
It is favorite carrier oil. It is liquid at room temperature. It has a soft, slightly fatty odor. It helps in the healing process and gives the skin a glowing complexion. It does not completely dissolve in the skin and creates a barrier with a satiny finish.
It is rather famous in soap making and other skin care product. You can easily make your very own soap with jojoba golden oil in the comfort of your home. Here are a few recipes for soaps:
Earth Clay Soap:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Vegetable Glycerin Soap
- 1 Tbsp Clay
- 2 Tbsp Jojoba Oil
- ¼ cup Distilled Water
- Color and Scent
Method:
Mix the clay in a separate dish. Put the clay in the dish and then pour a small amount of melted soap in it. Mix it well with a spoon till it forms a paste. Then add Jojoba Oil, Water and the remaining melted soap in the mixture and stir. This will eliminate any lumps and make the soap smooth. Add color and Fragrance and mix until trace. Pour in a mold and after it stiffens let it cure for 2-3 week and then use as you desire.
Jojoba Oil M&P Soap:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb M&P Soap
- 1 tbsp Jojoba Oil
- 1 tsp Beeswax
Method:
Melt M&P soap and Beeswax at low heat and then mix well. When the mixture looks smooth add jojoba oil and stir till trace. Pour in a container or a mold and set aside for 24 hours. Let it cure for 2-3 weeks and then use.
Shea Butter Soap:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Melt and Pour (opaque)
- 1 tbsp Jojoba Oil
- 1 tsp Shea Butter
- 1 tsp Grated Beeswax
- Fragrance
Method:
Use a double boiler for melting. Blend the rest of the ingredients together in a drink mixer and then pour into the double boiler. Mix well and sprinkle with alcohol to eliminate bubbles. Pour into mold and let it harden. Remove from the mold and let it cure for 2-3 weeks. This is a luxurious face soap that will sooth your skin and serves as a nice moisturizing bar.
Jojoba Oil is also used in aromatherapy. Here is a recipe containing jojoba oil that will nourish and soften damaged or stressed skin:
Jojoba Aromatherapy Bath Oil:
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Jojoba Oil
- 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 5 drops Lemon Balm Oil
- 5 drops
Method:
Pour Jojoba Oil in a container and add all the essential oils in it. Blend it together and pour it into a jar. Cap the jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake it well. To use pour 1-2 tablespoons of aromatherapy bath oil in your bath water and dissolve with your hand before you soak in the water.
