Geranium Egyptian Essential Oil
Soap makers and aromatherapists often refer to geranium Egyptian essential oil as the balancing oil. Not only doe it balance the mind and spirit, it also stimulates the adrenal cortex in the brain so it balances hormone levels throughout the body. Geranium Egyptian oil even balances the sedum in the skin and is admired for its skin toning abilities. This oil is used in the treatment of wounds, acne, bruises, athlete's foot, eczema and other skin disorders. It is a natural insect repellant and is used to ease sore throats, PMS, menopausal symptoms and stress. Geranium Egyptian oil is antiseptic, astringent, anticoagulant, antidepressant and anti-inflammatory, and has several other therapeutic properties.
Possessing a sweet, floral, almost rose like aroma, geranium Egyptian oil is thin and fairly colorless, having only a faint tinge of green in it. Its strong scent adds a lovely middle keynote to formulas and it blends well with many other essential oils. Gone Camping Soap
This is a pleasantly scented soap that will help ward off the mosquitoes when you are camping.
- 12 oz olive oil
- 12 oz coconut oil
- 19 oz vegetable shortening
- 6 oz lye
- 16 oz distilled water
At trace:
- 1 tbs. lavender essential oil
- 1 tbs. citronella essential oil
- 1 tbs. geranium Egyptian essential oil
- 1 tbs. rosemary essential oil
Pour lye into water. Cool to 125 degrees. Heat oils to 125 degrees. Pour lye/water mix into oils. Bring to trace. Add essential oils. Pour into mold, cover and let sit for 24 hours. Remove from mold and cure 3-4 weeks. Makes 4 lbs of soap.
Fantasy Flowers Complexion Soap
- 3 oz jojoba oil
- 3 oz avocado oil
- 2 oz coconut oil
- 12 oz olive oil
- 6 oz palm oil
- 5 oz palm kernel oil
- 1 oz wheat germ oil
- 1 oz beeswax
- 4.1 oz lye
- 10 oz cold water
At trace:
- 1 tbs. neroli essential oil
- 1 tbs. geranium Egyptian essential oil
- 1 tbs. jasmine essential oil
Mix lye and water and let cool to 105 degrees. Mix all oils except essential oils. Add beeswax and warm until beeswax is melted. Add lye mixture to oils. Bring to light trace and add essential oils. Pour into molds and lightly cover for 24 hours. Remove from molds, cut and cure for 3-4 weeks.
Soap That Soothes
Ingredients:
- 6 ounces castor oil
- 14 ounces coconut oil
- 14 ounces hemp oil
- 8 ounces palm oil
- 6 ounces shea butter
- 21 ounces distilled water
- 6.82 ounces lye (
- ½-ounce Basil Oil>
- ½- ounce clary sage essential oil
- ¼ ounce geranium Egyptian essential oil
Pour lye into water and cool to 110 degrees. Melt shea butter and heat oils to 110 degrees. Add the lye/water mixture to soap and bring to trace. At trace, add essential oils and incorporate thoroughly. Pour into molds and cover. Remove from mold after 24 hours and let cure in open air for 3 weeks.
Skin Toner
- 5 drops lavender essential oil
- 5 drops geranium Egyptian essential oil
- 2 oz green tea
Place ingredients in glass bottle. Shake well before each use. After washing your face, put a few drops of toner on a cotton ball and apply to face and neck. This will leave your skin feeling smooth and refreshed.
