Babassu Oil
Babassu oil is extracted from the Babassu palm that is native to southern regions of Brazil. But it is also produced in other South American countries. It remains solid at room temperature. It has very little scent characteristics of most carrier oils. It is rich in glycosides, vitamins and minerals. It is easily absorbed in the skin and used in different types of cosmetics.
For centuries it has been used to sooth dry skin. It is an emollient and a good moisturizer. But it leaves an oily sheen over the skin but with a pleasant velvety feeling. It helps produce lather in soap. It initiates melting at body temperature. It is rather easy to make soap at home.
